Electra
Electra is a modest but striking cottage built from the ashes of a previous dwelling on a pine and cattle property an hour west of Bundaberg. A firm budget required restraint in the selection of materials and detailing and this helped ensure the simple, rural aesthetic that is present throughout the home.
A simple skillion roof creates a generous verandah onto which the internal living space opens to capture the breeze and views from the residence. Extensive glazing affords a high degree of cross-ventilation and natural light, crucial as the house is completely offgrid.
The entire project from initial concepts to completion of the home was completed in under nine months, thanks to a collaborative approach and strong working relationship between client, builder and architect.
Construction completed Late 2018.
