Located in a new suburban area of West Port Macquarie, Lake Innes Village comprises a 3500sqm Coles supermarket, Liquorland bottle shop, and 15 specialty stores. The planning of the centre is quite unique as it is set well back from the main road, with the entrance forecourt and cafe plaza orientated towards a future medium density residential street as opposed to the carpark which is set to the side of the building. A double height entry lobby/airlock is clad in translucent polycarbonate, creating a glowing beacon at nighttime, and allowing natural light into the building during the day. Other creative material selections include a mineral paint system to the precast concrete, and ceramic tiling to portions of the specialty retail walls – both of these are hardwearing choices that will reduce maintenance costs for the client into the future.
